News

If you have changed your phone number or email address recently, then update your contact information with PMI International at www.pmi.org. Each month, our chapter pulls updated email addresses from PMI, so there is no need to inform us of your contact information change. Below are the steps for updating your email with PMI:

  1. Go to www.pmi.org and sign in.
  2. Click on “myPMI” directly under the upper left PMI image.
  3. Click on 'Edit my profile'.
  4. Update your email/phone information and click “Save”.

As a way to give back to our chapter members and encourage participation in chapter meetings we are providing free chapter meetings in 2020. Here are the requirements for attending the meetings for free:

  • Must be a current PMICAC chapter member
  • Must register for the chapter meeting by the cutoff date via the PMICAC website
    • Cutoff date is 5PM CST the Friday before the chapter meeting

If you do not register by the cutoff date/time and attend as a walk-in, we will charge the normal walk-in price of $25 for attending the meeting. Registering early for and attending every chapter meeting in 2020 is worth $200 to each member.

If you were able to make the August luncheon, you’ll understand why we are so excited to welcome April Clark back for more information on Reach & Teach. If you missed the meeting, find out more about their program here. You can also check out their YouTube channel here

Our Chapter is teaming up with Reach & Teach to help students and teachers plan and host a rock concert at their school. Students will do all of the work, but it’s a big undertaking…which is where Project Management comes in! We are going to meet with April on Thursday, October 10th, to take a deeper dive into their curriculum and brainstorm ways our Chapter can get involved.

This is open to all members and will count towards “giving back” PDU’s. Even better, this is a great way to get involved in our community and bringing project management to the next generation.

Meeting Details:

When: Thursday, October 10th, 2019 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Where: Hoover Public Library Café (East 59 Vintage Café)
200 Municipal Drive, Hoover, AL 35216
Note: Food and beverages are available for purchase at the café until 7:00 pm.

Please RSVP to Mindy Wyatt, PMIef Liaison

In today’s business environment, Leaders are known as “Influencers”. The most effective Influencers are natural Leaders, or people who have learned to develop themselves into the Leader that they wish to be. Although, there are hundreds of books, articles and resources that promote which attributes aspiring Leaders should have, this 4-part iLead Series will teach you how to apply them so that you can be an influential Leader who adds real value in life and in business.
