When we think of self-directed teams, we often imagine a team completing tasks with little or no direction. And we all too often think of a project manager (PM) leading teams with an authoritarian style, so the concept of a PM leading self-directed teams seems impossible. This presentation explores this seeming contradiction and explains why it is neither a contradiction nor impossible.
