Topic: The Lighten Up Approach to Project Management

The Lighten Up Approach to Project Management: There’s a big payoff to smiling and laughing as you tackle those unreasonable expectations, unrealistic schedules, unworkable budgets, too few resources, and crises that seem to pop up daily. Humor reduces stress, which often makes difficult situations easier to figure out, and it also helps you live a longer, healthier life.

Bio: Diane Weldon is a Project Manager in the Technology PMO at Regions Bank. She got her first job in banking as a Branch Manager for Compass Bank in Huntsville, AL. She continued working at Compass Bank while attending grad school at night. She got her Master degree and left Huntsville for the big city of Birmingham and started working for AmSouth Bank. Regions and AmSouth “merged” and she continued her career at Regions Bank. She left after ten years and worked for BBVA Compass Bank for about three years. She came back to Regions Bank in 2013 and has been there through many – many – many – many reorganizations. She works at the Riverchase Operations Center and lives in Riverchase Country Club Community and has a son at Riverchase Elementary school. The only distance driving she does is go to Berry Middle School occasionally, for her daughter’s special events. She is a horrible driver, so it works out well that she doesn’t drive much and everybody is safer on the roads for it.
